Providing evidence-based, practical breastfeeding & lactation care is a big job, and our staff are highly trained and experienced.
When you encounter a staff member at Baby Café Bakersfield, you can be assured that they have been trained to meet your needs.
Our staff are International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs), some for decades. In addition, some of our staff are Registered Nurses (RNs) with decades of collective experience in OB care, labor & delivery, postpartum care, NICU, and public health.
We also have highly-trained and vetted lactation educators and counselors on our staff.
All of our staff are trained in childbirth education as well.
What this means for you: all of our professional Baby Café staff are trained to support your lactation and postpartum needs. We counsel with compassion, we educate with a focus on you and your plans, and we have the clinical knowledge to back it up.
Your health information is highly protected, and your & your baby’s health are our top priorities. We are not afraid to refer you on to other types of care if we determine you need it or if you request it.
Our website and social media accounts are managed by an IBCLC as well, so all of the information we post and share has been carefully curated to ensure that it is accurate and meets our mission and objectives. We do not share marketing messages from companies or individuals who are trying to sell things to you.
Our direct message and email inboxes are handled by an IBCLC so that prompt referrals for care can be made. We do not provide one-to-one lactation care on social media.
When you call or text our secure help number, your call or text is read by our IBCLC staff, who are committed to responding in a timely manner to assist you with your lactation questions and needs.
We take this work seriously, and we want you to know that we are dedicated to welcoming you into our service in the kindest way possible and providing you with the highest level of clinical lactation care.
